ABOUT
Vivek Haria is a British composer and writer of Indian heritage, based in London. His repertoire blends traditional and contemporary elements, and at the core of his work is a deep connection to choral music.
Vivek’s music is deeply influenced by his heritage and personal experiences. In recent years, he has collaborated with ensembles including the BBC Singers and the London Symphony Orchestra, where he participated as an Associate on their Soundhub scheme. A notable highlight includes a new work for internationally acclaimed musicians Mahan Esfahani and Fenella Humphreys, which was premiered at the Cheltenham Composer Academy in 2022.
He has recently been selected as one of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Composers for 2026, where he will be commissioned to write a new work for the Swaledale Festival in North Yorkshire.
Vivek read Music at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he studied composition with Raymond Yiu and Richard Causton. He continues to be mentored by Brian Elias.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Vivek is a chartered accountant and a proud member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s inaugural NewGen Board.
